Children’s Mental Health Week is taking place on 1-7 February 2021. This year's theme is Express Yourself, and there’s no better way to do that than to unleash your creative side. The aim is to encourage children to express themselves, share feelings and in doing so, feel more positive. Some schools offer bullet journaling as an extra-curricular activity as they understand the benefits of getting thoughts down on paper. So, here at CraftStash, we want to do our bit. Join our fantastic competition to be in with a chance of winning a fantastic journaling bundle worth over £70 for your child or grandchild! It's very simple to enter this competition! Just add your email to the form below! You have until 7th February 2021 at 11.59 pm (GMT). You can also share it with your friends, family and favourite groups to get more entries!

Recognising Children’s Mental Health

Mental health problems can affect children and teenagers, no matter their age. Unfortunately, this year has been a tough one for us all. The months of lockdown and loss have had a huge impact on our mental health, including the little ones of the family. So, now more than ever, we consider it very important to find hobbies that keep our little ones busy. In fact, Practical Publishing and CraftStash have teamed up Mental Health UK, so we can recognise and respond to this growing issue. If you or someone you know needs support regarding any mental health issue, please contact Mental Health UK We couldn't agree more with Mental Health UK regarding the activities that can help with mental health problems:
  1. Learning how to do something. Whether you’re a complete craft newbie, or just looking for some new hobby ideas, there’s a whole world of crafts for you to try! From crochet to cross-stitch, dressmaking to papercraft, why don't you encourage your kids to try journaling art?
  2. Staying connected. There are thousands of communities that are looking forward to seeing your creations and getting inspired by you! We invite you to join CraftWorld, our super-friendly online community for papercrafters.
  3. Being present. Journaling is a great example of thinking about now, creating your plans and activities and making sure they are all kept in a beautiful notebook decorated by you.
  4. Supporting others. Most of our crafting projects are for someone we love and care about. We cannot imagine the impact that just a simple handmade craft could provoke in a person!
  5. Being physically active. Let's get moving, just a 30 minutes walk, or perhaps something at home? :)
When you ask people why they craft, the most common replies are because it makes them happy, "it reduces stress", "it gives me a chance to have "me time"", "I enjoy being creative" and that "I’m able to socialise with likeminded people". Any type of crafting is perfect to unwind and escape any worries or concerns and focus on being in the moment whilst being creative. That's why we have put not one but THREE bundles of journaling items together for the little ones of the family! Let them express themselves with our fantastic selection of products. We have included a great variety of brands, such as Sassy Crafting, Everyday Journaling, Chameleon, and even our exclusive So Beautifully Organised Stationery Kit!
