Step 1: Preparing the Card

Lou starts by demonstrating how to cut and score the card using a trimmer. Then you can remove the template - it can be reused for future projects! After this, fold the card to create the arrow shape, a unique design that adds a touch of creativity to your cards.

Step 2: Stamping the Butterfly

Next, choose a patterned paper for the butterfly and stamp it with black ink. This part of the process is all about creating a stamped butterfly with an ombre effect. Lou uses black ink and a stamping platform to apply the ink evenly. Then use a stamp and die set to cut out the butterfly shape. By lining up the die and securing it with low tack tape, you're ensured a precise cut.

Step 3: Creating the Ombre Effect and Adding Sentiments

Once the butterfly is cut, Lou shows the finished product with the beautiful ombre effect. Then you can add a sentiment to the card using a die-cut word. Lou explains how to cut out and glue the word onto the card. She also suggests using different colours for the sentiment to create contrast and make the card eye-catching.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

In the final part of the process, Lou discusses how to deal with any slight offset or purple shadow that might occur. It's not a problem as it'll coordinate with the overall design. Then, use an adhesive eraser to remove any accidental glue spots.

Then secure the butterfly onto the arrow fold of the card using glue. Lou shows you how to place the butterfly so it appears to be floating, which adds dimension to the card. Finally, glue your sentiment directly over the center of the butterfly.

And there you have it - a beautiful card! The unique shape adds a charming twist to traditional card making. Try it out and share your take on it by tagging us #CraftStash. Happy crafting!
