Christmas Tree Stencilled Card

Die cuts are a great way to add interest to your card making, however you can use your dies for more than cutting paper. Use your dies to easily create stencils. We used the O Christmas tree 2-piece gift set included in Die-Cutting Essentials 44 to create a stencil from card stock. The tree die is so ornate and intricate which makes it ideal for stencilling.

We recommend using stencil film or paper for creating stencils, but if you don’t have any in your stash, then you can use card stock. If you end up using card stock for your stencil, just make sure you’re gentle when inking or blending so you don’t tear your card.

For blending over our stencil we used Distress Inks in the following colours: Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, and Evergreen Bough. We blended our three colours outwardly over our stencil. We also used Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss to add some sparkle around our tree.
