The Sweet Pea Die set included in Die-cutting Essentials 50 set off a flurry of ideas in our crafty heads! We decided to try an easy gatefold card with the set because the panel die is gorgeous in and of itself, but also the outline die really lends itself to this type of card. To start off your card you’ll need 2 colours. Preferably choose contrasting ones so that the ornate Sweet Pea die cut can really pop off your card. Take your base colour and trim this to 16.5cm x 15.2cm and score at 1.5cm on each short side. Burnish your score lines so you can clearly see where to attach your intricate panels. Die-cut two ornate panels and set them aside while you trim your panel pieces. This die set has some gorgeous fallout so you can even do a bit of paper-piecing! Then cut 2 rectangles (also in your base colour) to 8cmx15.2cm. Glue your ornate die cuts to your rectangles and then take your Sweet Pea outline edge die and die-cut your panels. If you have a mirrored die-cut for your second panel, the best thing to do is hold up your paper to the light so you can see where to place your die. Attach it with washi tape and die-cut normally.  Glue your panels to your gatefold base and then stamp your sentiment. We wanted to decorate our card with a satin bow from Craft Consortium and some pearls.
