Don't miss Papercraft Essentials 171 (available on Feb 28th) jam-packed issue with not one, but two EXCLUSIVE premium gifts inspired and licensed by The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. The first stunning gift includes an 8-piece die set, 6 stamp sentiments, and an A6 embossing folder which coordinates perfectly with the additional 32-page paper pack (which has gorgeous patterns plus toppers). We couldn't wait to have a play with this gift set, so we created an embossed and guilded Mother's Day card. We used the embossing folder in the set, but with a twist! We extended the design to create a mirrored texture effect. And of course you can apply this technique to other embossing folders in your stash. To extend your embossing folder design, all you need to do is only put a portion of your card stock in your embossing folder. This will give you a partial embossing pattern. Then you can shift your card stock over to continue embossing. You might have to rotate your embossing folder and paper for it to fit within your die-cutting machine. If you have a larger format machine like a Sizzix Big Shot Plus or a Spellbinders Platinum, then you don't have to worry about rotating. Embossing folders pair perfectly with a little guilding polish. We used Cosmic Shimmer Guilding Polish to add a metallic sheen to our card surface. We also added a few of the toppers from the paper pack included in Papercraft Essentials 171. It's an issue you won't want to miss which includes 2 premium gifts!
