Welcome to TEXT{ures}

After all her years of papercrafting, Lou has always been a big fan of mixed media because she loves the layering up of elements and texture hat is built by doing this. Many people would find this style of paper crafting intimidating and so Lou wanted to design some products that could easily be layered for the textured and mixed media-style look, but with the option of using them on their own for clean and simple also. Lou is also a huge fan of lettering and different fonts and bringing words and letters into her projects as much in the backgrounds as the main sentiments, so we will be introducing a new font style to each range. This will be in dies, stamps, stencils and sometimes in the papers also. In addition, this first collection introduces a little of just some of the concepts that we have planned for future collections. The reflections element is a range of stamps, dies and greyboard that can be used together or individually, and offering different patterns for each half of an image, in this first collection we have the owl, and for each half of the background as well. Lou designed the TEXT{ures} collections will the aim to show how versatile a single product can be, and likewise, how all the elements can work well together. These dies, stamps, papers, stencils and greyboard will lend themselves to both traditional and contemporary styles, which is something most products will not. They really are suitable for everyone.

Who can use Text (ures)?

Lou has concentrated her efforts when designing the TEXT{ures} products on ensuring that each and every product can be used by crafters of all abilities and experiences. You do not have to have die-cutting machines or stamping tools if you prefer to craft simply with patterned papers and by allowing you to colour the papers yourself, no colour style preference is left out.

Tell us a funny story behind the development of this collection

When using words or letters in design we always have to be very careful that the finished product does not accidentally show up any undesirable words, particularly when the letters are randomly placed. So, when finalising the designs, I was on a video call with two other members of the team and we were all looking carefully through one design and ensuring we couldn’t see anything we shouldn’t. For a full five minutes, we were reading out loud words like ‘guds’ ‘pjilf’ and ‘shikder’, much to the amusement of my family who had entered the room and thought we were trying out a whole new language! Lou is absolutely thrilled about bringing her own designs to life. She has worked with some fantastic brands and products in the past but having her very own is a dream come true. We cannot wait to begin seeing crafters using the TEXT{ures} products! We are officially launching this fantastic NEW BRAND on our Facebook Live on Friday 4th December at 12.30 pm (GMT).
