This will save you time when cutting the shape of the card, but if you don't have a die-cutting machine, don't worry! Just use scissors :)

Measurements needed to make this card

Heart-shaped card - 10.5cm x 14cm The diameter of the centre- 2.5 cm The diameter of the circles - 2.7 cm

Step-by-Step

We have also done a 3-minute video tutorial that will help you create this lovely project! You will find it at the bottom of this article. 1. Print the Heart Mandala Design Template. (or use any stamp/design you wish) twice. Get your favourite brush pens out of the case and start colouring! Set your second copy aside. Top three tips when colouring mandalas:
  • Start from the centre.
  • Be meticulous and use the same colours for any repeating elements.
  • Relax and enjoy!
2. Cut a circle from the centre of your heart card. You can cut it as big as you wish, but keep in mind that the bigger it is, the larger your personalised message must be! The circle we did was 2.5 cm diameter. 3. Once you are happy with the size of your circle, colour only the part that will be shown on the second heart design. You can also colour the whole design and enjoy this relaxing craft! 4. Measurements time! Make sure the two circles you will write your message in are as big as the diameter you have cut in the centre of your heart. We recommend making it 2mm bigger. As a reference, the circles in the picture are 2.7 cm diameter. 5. To create the arrow, you will be making two circles connecting each one with a paper strap. Fletching will be the piece you will position on the left side of the heart. Finally, the bullet point will be on the right side. We have hand-drawn the pieces of the arrow, why don't you give it a go? :) 6. Add double-sided tape on the second mandala. Make sure you leave the borders free where your arrow will be situated, so it allows you to pull the hidden messages in and out. 7. Moment of truth! Stick both heart designs together and leave the two pieces that form the arrow in between, make sure they have plenty of room to be pulled in and out. While you can always buy a card from the store, a handmade card will be more personal and unique.
