Step by Step: Easy Fastener Pillow Box

Step 1: Cut a piece of card to roughly 13 cm x 21 cm (this means you can get two boxes from one sheet of A4 cardstock). Step 2: Run the die through your die-cutting machine using the usual die-cutting sandwich, the die is designed to deboss the score lines at the same time as cutting so there’s no need to emboss the die.

Step 3: Gently crease all the score lines that were debossed into your die cut, and mould the card with your fingers so that it curves round nicely. Step 4: Use some Cosmic Shimmer glue (or high tack red liner tape) to attach the first side of your box, curve the card over so that it follows the folded line. Make sure to hold the box for a minute while the glue dries to ensure a good bond.

Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for the other side of the box, again making sure to hold the join firmly while the glue dries. Step 6: Finally fold the last flap of the box over the bottom of the box, and insert the tab into the slot to hold the box shut. All that’s left to do now is to decorate and add a tag - why not use the co-ordinating tags and box windows die set for this? :)

Step 1: Use the Pillow Box and Tags & Box Windows die sets in the Gift Box Collection. Then place your chosen window die onto your die-cut box, and die-cut this too. Step 4: So that nothing falls out of the box once it’s assembled, add some acetate behind the window. Use a small amount (as shown in the photo) to glue down your piece of acetate, this glue is brilliant, so you don’t need much.
