Unboxing Video and Beginner tips for using the Sizzix Sidekick
In the video Janette is using a Tim Holtz branded version of the sidekick, however, the specifications are exactly the same.
The Sizzix Sidekick weighs 2 lbs and is 4 3/4 inches tall. Its smaller size makes it perfect for on-the-go crafting. Do you attend workshops or craft meet ups? Or maybe you need a small machine on your desk for your smaller dies? Just think how much easier it will be to pull this machine from your drawer!
What dies and embossing folders can the Sizzix Sidekick take
Don’t be discouraged by the size. This machine can die-cut and emboss any dies and folders measuring up to 2.5 inches wide. However, it is a small machine so it won’t be able to cut thicker dies. Search for Thinlits, Framelits and Sizzlits. You can also use thin dies or embossing folders from other brands as long as they are less than 2.5 inches wide. Always check the product details for the size of the dies and folders before you checkout.

Sizzix have produced a simple user guide which shows you clear diagrams of how to create the ‘sandwich’ using the aqua pads, for cutting wafer thin dies and wafer thin folders.
