In today’s tutorial we’re sharing how to make a vintage layered card using the Ladies & Gentlemen A4-sized stamp set included in Creative Stamping 70. This set comes with 44 charming vintage elements and sentiments, and includes exclusive designs from Crafty Individuals. We were so inspired by the set and couldn’t wait to step out of our creative comfort zones and get a little inky and messy! To create a vintage card with a weathered and aged effect we used several colours of Tim Holtz Distress Inks on white or light beige cardstock. Here’s the best Distress Inks to create a vintage and aged effect for your cards:
  • Brushed Curdoroy
  • Pumice Stone
  • Tea Dye
  • Frayed Burlap
  • Rusty Hinge
  • Gathered Twigs
  • Milled Lavender
  • Victorian Velvet
Also you’ll want to use cardstock in colours that will give your projects an antique effect. Here’s the colours we recommend:
  • Greys
  • Beige
  • Light Brown
  • Kraft
  • Vellum/Parchment
To give our layered vintage card an antique look we did a lot of inking with our Distress Inks as well as used a paper distresser to tear and fray the edges of some of our layers. You can use sharp scissors but we love the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser for this technique.
